Ölüdeniz is one of the paragliding heavens in Turkey and in the world with exceptional beauty and attraction.
This adventure starting from Babadağ (Mount Baba) of 1975 metres high accompanied by an experienced pilot ends on Belcekız Beach following a flight of 30 or 40 minutes. The transportation to the take-off spot located at 1.700 metres high is provided by a jeep. The 25 km long bumpy dirt road takes about 50 minutes from Ölüdeniz. If the wind level at the take-off spot of 1.700 m is not sufficient, the higher spot of 1.900 m is preferred for the take-off. Here at the take-off area, you’ll be equipped with your flight-suit and helmet and then sit on the harness which is connected to the pilot and a fabric wing; the pilot runs forward with the wing behind and the air pressure generated by the forward movement inflates the wing and after a few steps of running forward, you take off and gain altitude. Experienced pilots can go as high as 3.500 metres and stay airborne about 5 hours.
